According to a post on No Age's blog, they are planning a secret location show somewhere in the Los Angeles area on February 7th at 12 pm. But this isn't your ordinary secret show, it is a benefit concert. For what you might ask? Cancer. The flier for the event says that it is "a benefit for our friend's mom" who apparently has cancer. From the looks of it, this seems like it's going to be a blow out event full of the pretension of seeing a secret show that includes great music, food and drinks, while supporting a good cause. It is an amazing thing when musicians and artists come together in solidarity and create something beautiful for the benefit of a cause that has affected so many people throughout the world like cancer has. Luckily, No Age is not alone in the effort to help their friend’s mom. Vivian Girls, Darker My Love, Abe Vigoda, Best Coast, Nodzzz, Cowabunga Babes, Wounded Lion, Graham Forrest, Ale Mania and Animal Styles will each contribute a set. And, if those bands aren’t enough to get you out there and give whatever money you can to help a cancer victim; unnamed DJs will be present and the cheap $10 entrance fee will include free Colt 45 and vegan goodies (not sure if the goodies actually free). They implore you to be there on time and to RSVP to the email address on the flier. Hope everyone out there in LA goes, or at least tries and I wish they were doing it out here in New York because shows this good don’t happen every day.
