Animal Collective’s ATP Mixtape Kills, Suggested Festival Reading List Eludes Us

Animal Collective are curating All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival in Butlins, Minehead (UK) which will take place May 13-15. In promotion/celebration of the upcoming festival, the boys put together an epic two-hour mix featuring bands you’ll hear if you attend their ATP.

The mix includes many Death and Taxes favorites, past and present, such as Beach House, Meat Puppets, Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti and Kurt Vile. We couldn’t agree more with SG, and hereby pledge that every mix we make will begin with Orthlem’s “OV.” That killer intro then goes right into Animal Collective‘s own “Fireworks.”

Something not too many are talking about is the recommended reading list compiled by the band for the festival. While we’re definitely familiar with W.B. Yeats and “Siddhartha,” and would love to read anything by Jacques Cousteau, the rest of the titles elude us. But hey, we’re just audio-nerds over here at Death and Taxes’ music section. The literary types sit across the room.
