Trouble Andrew’s Biggest Woe: Running Out of Blunts

Pro Snowboarder turned indie “innovative musical talent.”

If Santigold was your wife, you’d probably do what Trevor Andrew did: ditch your snowboard in hopes of becoming the next big indie music star. House ridden because of tearing out his knee in 2004, Andrew worked with what he had (his then girlfriend, now wife’s instruments) and “just punk rocked out.”

Crediting his varied taste in music to his younger days as a skateboarder on the streets of Nova Scotia, Andrew was largely influenced by the punk and rock house bands he used for his skateboard videos. Touring as a world famous snowboarder, Andrew was exposed to everything from southern hip hop to Johnny Cash, which makes categorizing Trevor “Trouble” Andrew into one genre difficult.

The “Trouble Gang Mixtape,” one of Andrew’s self released records features the likes of Diplo, Spankrock, Santigold, Amanda Blank and Lil John, so it’s no surprise Andrew’s new LP “Dreams of a Troubled Man” is met with much anticipation. “New Kid,” is the first single released off the LP complete with a raunchy, intense, black and white video to accompany it. “Last Gang Records” releases Trouble Andrew’s “Dreams of a Troubled Man” March 29th. Catch Andrew on tour as he hopes to “take his career to another level” supporting major acts, Rick Ross, Wiz Khalifa, and Cypress Hill.
