Zach Condon puts Beirut’s Balkan touch on the Brazilian composer’s “O Leãozinho.”
Red Hot Organization, the people responsible for “Dark Was The Night,” are prepping another indie star-studded bill for their newest compilation “Red Hot + Rio 2.” Like the first volume, the new album will feature Brazilian acts working together with artists in hopes of raising awareness and funds for HIV/AIDS charities.
Artists set to be featured in the compilation include John Legend, Os Mutantes, Seu Jorge, Beck, Bebel Gilberto, José Gonzales, Beirut, Devendra Banhart, Caetano Veloso, Dirty Projectors, Tom Zé, Of Montreal, Gogol Bordello, Javelin, Madlib, Brazilian Girls, St. Vincent and Neon Indian. Quite a lineup indeed.
