Rebecca Black‘s “Friday” is made bearable by the increasingly popular time-stretch treatment.
As The Guardian points out, “two things seem to happen when rotten pieces of music achieve a certain level of notoriety. First there’s the outpouring of untrammelled fury… Then someone takes the track and timestretches it.” It most notably happened to Justin Bieber’s “Baby” and the Jurassic Park theme song (though we wouldn’t hold the latter to be a “rotten piece of music”).
Well, naturally, Youtube’s most loved/hated/talked about sensation Rebecca Black has received the time-stretch treatment — and, we hate to say it, but it makes her sound kind of good. Check out “Friday Slowed Down x5″ below, as well as our favorite Black parody: Death Metal Friday.
Now, we promise we won’t mention Rebecca Black ever again.
