New York City comedy legend, Chris Gethard, recently pulled another unexpected and hilarious move.
In 2010, Comedy Central premiered a show called, “Big Lake.” Gethard played the lead role and, unfortunately for him, the show did not do very well. Naturally, “Big Lake” has an IMDB page and as with any website today, people are allowed to voice their opinions via comment boards. In this particular case, one disgruntled viewer decided to lay-in to Gethard especially hard.
With comments like, “Please Stop Acting,” and “The one intelligent career choice you have made thus far is to not have your agent, assuming he hasn’t hung himself, post a picture on your IMDB profile,” Gethard seems to have been caught a little off guard. He realized his show, that also featured comics Horatio Sanz and Chris Parnell hadn’t done well, but for someone to express such disdain over his individual performance, it called for action.
Although he is an accomplished improviser, arguaby one of the best in New York City, Gethard has become known for his outrageous brand of humor. Most recently, he ended a year-long twitter war with P.Diddy that not only landed Gethard a spot on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, but Diddy actually ended up being a guest on “The Chris Gethard Show,” which happens monthly at New York City’s Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.
Rather than letting the comments slide, the comedian decided to track the commenter down (via virtuosic internet creepery), friend him on facebook, and invite him to NYC for an interview regarding his harsh words. What ensued was a hilariously awkward interview with the two of them discussing “Big Lake,” comedy, and the posted comments. Check it out below:

Gethard is one of the greatest improv comedians working out there today—this is a dude who bakes bread and has the audacity to call him out on his creativity. This is uncomfortable but awesome
