muse-thumb-400x315House music is an acquired taste. It generally needs a bloodstream full of uppers, downers, or both simultaneously. But when I found out that Tiesto would be remixing one of my favorite current rock bands, MUSE, I was excited to hear the results. When I bought their latest album, The Resistance, I was overwhelmed. Apparently, so were the people at NME Magazine, who crowned them "Best British Band," as we reported here. I took a listen to the Tiesto version of "The Resistance," and was nonplussed. But I thought, "Is this missing something, or am I missing something?" House music is adored in the UK, but it just doesn't fly with me. Check out the remix for yourself after the jump.

Tiesto Remix of Muse's "Resistance" Missing Something

I believe that this is a classic case of time and place being necessary for something to be good. For example, The Big Lebowski is better after a J and a nice White Russian. The Tiesto Remix of “Resistance” requires a hostel, underground dance party, and a girl from Prague gettin’ freaky on ya. On the upside, Muse’s cover of Mega City 4′s Prague on the new single rocks.

Muse rocks!! and i love the Prague cover :) i usually dont like remixes but this one is OK, i love the uprising remix though!

Why would you review a genre of music that you don’t really know anything about, and that you don’t actually listen to? What were you expecting to hear? Listen, I don’t particularly like house music either, (and believe me, I live in a neighborhood with as high an aggregation of ethnic Russians in a small area as you’ll find in this country, so I’ve had plenty of opportunities to consider it’s qualities,) but I don’t go out of my way to listen to or critique it. And neither do you, at least when it comes to the latter. This is yet another piece about what Johnny thinks about Johnny’s taste in music and movies, with enough threadbare matter about the ACTUAL TOPIC to loosely connect all of Johnny’s Johnny talk about Johnny Johnny Johnny Johnny.
Also: have you ever actually DONE any drugs? Listen, not that I’m advocating for (or against) drug use here, but if you’re gonna take anything harder than a really hard bong hit, you really should do a little planning ahead. If you just randomly start mixing various nebulous uppers and downers in uncontrolled quantities, as your brilliant ass seems to be advocating, you’re not going to be “gettin’ freaky” with ANYONE for long. Because you will be DEAD.

For starters its trance not house, so you clearly dont have a clue what your talking about Johnny. I agree with Ivan, why would you even attempt to review a genre of music you know scooby about? This remix has been going down a storm with dance music fans all over which just proves that your “review” is as useful as a pair of shorts at the north pole.
your statement about uppers and downers is the sort of thing you would expect from a person who has been locked in a room for most of there youth. I mean come on! do you honestly think taking something that will make your heart rate speed up at the same time as something that will make your heart rate plummet is going to make you get freaky? Maybe you should give it a shot and then we wont have to read anymore of your so called “reviews”
