The new My Morning Jacket song is sweet. It’s been said that new album “Circuital” was inspired by the band’s recent five night stint at Terminal Five, and it shows on this track.
“Circuital,” the title track from the new record, is a return to form of sorts for the group. The seven-minute long jam finds Jim James bringing back his much missed reverb-drenched vocals, as well as those slow progressions we hadn’t heard since “It Still Moves.”
Though I was a fan of the Prince-esque “Evil Urges,” none of the its tracks ever held any of the warmth that made me first fall in love with the band way back when. So it’s refreshing to hear them bring back some of that old goodness.
