“I wish, I wish, I wish,” Nas was hiding out in my closet.
Funny or Die released this video featuring the “Illmatic” rapper lurking around an innocent man’s hotel room. Is he behind the curtains, in the wardrobe, or is he really there at all? Just looking to charge his phone (he always likes to leave with a full power bar), Nas attempts to lure the man to sleep with a lullaby.
“Hush little baby don’t say a word, Nas is gonna buy you a brand new phone.” How about a brand new album, Nas? Currently playing Coachella and other festivals around the country, Nas has been performing with Damien Marley promoting “Distant Relatives,” the 2010 CD they both worked on. His tenth album, which is rumored to feature Kanye, Dr. Dre, Swizz Beatz, and other big name stars, still has no release date.
This video is unexpected from the normally serious rapper. That’s probably what makes it so funny. Always proetic, Nas ends with, “There’s always a shadow, leaving viewers unaware if Nas was truly there at all.” So beware, next time you’re missing your keys, can’t find our phone charger, or just feel a strange breath on your neck, Nas could be creeping in your closets.
