L.A.’s Pink Taco Makes An Ass Out Of Itself

Would you expect anything less from a restaurant named after female genitalia?

Cinco De Mayo. It’s any Mexican restaurant’s most popular night. Another holiday Americans “celebrate” by taking too many shots of tequila and staying up way too late for their eight-hour work day in the morning. But hey, it’s tradition and Americans love any reason to get drunk for a holiday they know nothing about. So you think people would be all for a pink donkey painted to commemorate the festivities and craziness to come. Apparently not.

When the people of L.A. caught wind of “Pinky” they were not happy. Chaining the donkey up, letting it stand in 85 degree weather, and slapping a sloppily written logo over its pink body, Pink Taco’s brilliant plan backfired. Immediately, going to Facebook and Twitter to express their concerns, what seemed like every animal rights activist in L.A. joined forces to Boycott Pink Taco Century City.

Facing a major backlash for the stunt, Pink Taco deleted its Facebook and original Twitter page. A new, unapologetic twitter soon followed, showcasing the assholes they truly are.

I think we all agree that Donkeys aren’t animals of luxury. It’s not like they sit in air-conditioned mansions drinking from bottles of Fuji water. But there just seems to be something inhumane about painting a donkey pink and sticking it on hot concrete in the middle of the day. Maybe it’s the tacky double entendre, or the way they use pink-dyed taco shells, but painting a donkey pink and expecting people to take pictures just adds to why Pink Taco seems more like a resturant for college frat bros than the Hollywood elite.

Watch as scantily dressed Pink Taco girls pull poor Pinky around town promoting the restaurant. Also check out their Yelp page that is bound to take a hit due to their ill-conceived promotion stunt.

You know anybody can make an account with pink taco’s company name on Twitter, right? Have you really not stepped back and thought that “hmm, something’s fishy here” when reading “fat chicks bitch a lot”? This is the internet, enjoy your stay.

A Donkey hiked me up the Grand Canyon in 100+ degree temp. No problem with the use of the animal for promotion in this humane way but the fat chick comment…poor taste.

I’ve seen painted donkeys and horses in Mexico along border cities several times. It’s pretty simple advertising. Who doesn’t want to see a donkey painted like a zebra with lead paint?

Are people really crying about a donkey in 85 degree heat? Where do donkeys live, high rises with central air?? They are desert animals. As far as the “spray paint” it was the same dye Paris Hilton and all the other dumb sluts (many who are crying about this “poor donkey”) dye their dumb dogs with: safe and harmless. He wasn’t chained to anything… in the picture you can see a leather leash (lets protest the leather companies too). Should we all boycott the Grand Canyon: the weather there is, gasp, over 100 and they use donkeys to haul packs and tourists. The humanity!!!! These are people who really need to get a life. I was there. The donkey was very happy… as happy as that donkey on Shrek. He told me.

Maybe the donkey liked his new look. Anyone ever think of that?

How do people hate on a restaraunt (on yelp) that serves meat products (which they presumably eat, since they’re posting reviews of it) for unethical use of animals? wtfisupwiththat morality?
