You’ll think you’re watching a Technicolor western film.
“Rome,” the collaboration between producer-composer Danger Mouse (a.k.a. Brian Burton) and Italian composer Daniele Luppi, comes out on May 17, and after dropping a few tracks early, you can now hear the whole thing. The long-awaited project uses the talents of surviving members of Ennio Morricone‘s film orchestras alongside the vocals of Norah Jones and Jack White.
Morricone’s influence is apparent throughout the whole album, making it sound like it should be the soundtrack of an old western or a Tarantino film. Stream it over at NPR.
