Oh the irony. This morning, an Arizona judge issued a warrant for the arrest of Lil Wayne after he missed a court-date stemming from a drug and weapons charge. In ’08 the rapper was arrested when boarder patrol officials found ecstasy, cocaine and naturally, a few handguns in his tour bus.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’re probably aware that Lil Wayne, aka Dwayne Carter, is already serving a year-long sentence in NYC’s Rikers Island for a separate weapons charge and therefore, was unable to attend today’s pretrial conference in Arizona. Nevertheless, his bail has been upped to $150,000 and he can now add another warrant to the list.
Although he is currently serving a year-long sentence, it is suspected that Carter will be released in about eight months.
