Meet Victorine in her ‘Fukushima Femme Fontaine’ music video
One needn’t be French to appreciate the crystalline beauty and saturated nostalgia of the French musician Victorine’s single “Fukushima Femme Fontaine.” There’s a healthy dose of the American indie music preoccupation with ’50s and ’60s arrangements laden with reverb on this track. Even so, the Gallic world manifests nicely through the song’s window. Think Grizzly Bear if they were French and fronted by a girl.
The video finds the songstress applying makeup and fixing her hair whilst gazing into an aquarium. The camera, in turn, gazes through the aquarium at Victorine. Overall, it’s a very a nice effect.
For those who appreciate their Gallic musicians singing in their native tongue.
