Housse de Racket cover the Beach Boys track ‘Til I Die’

Many of the French people I’ve met, as well as artists such as Air and Sebastien Tellier, are self-avowed Beach Boys fans. Add Housse de Racket to the list now, because the Parisian duo have just crafted a “DIY” version of the Beach Boys track “Til I Die,” which doesn’t stray too far from the original’s template into Gallic finesse but ends rather unexpectedly in a beautiful cacophony of reverb and clanging.

“This song’s always been a mystery to us,” the duo says. “The chord progression is a symphony in itself. Brian Wilson at his best! …Two French guys from the suburb of Paris dreaming of California, landscapes & reverberation.”

Stream the cover below, which was originally premiered on Cover Me, and check out the DIY music video, which features the duo wandering on a North Dakota freeway. Also, check out the duo’s “Roman” music video, covered in Death and Taxes in 2011.
