Azealia Banks debut EP delayed

Last month, Harlem based rapper Azealia Banks teased the world with news of her first EP, titled “1991,” was going to be hitting the world today.

That short amount of time between official announcement and release date seemed too good to be true, and it is. “1991” will be delayed for the time being while Banks and her new management make it “more official.” To be honest, it almost seems like the release was never official, with her Twitter account being the only establishment making any mention of it.

Banks tweets, “For all you asking ‘1991’ is getting delayed.. AGAIN. : ( #newartistproblems…I just switched management.. Literally like three days ago, and have a whole new set of resources to take advantage of.”

It also seems like she’s putting more work into the record, which will probably mean that this EP will most likely get truncated to a single promoting her first full-length, “Broke with Expensive Taste,” which is slated for September. Sigh.
