Finally… a new video and album from The Very Best

The Very Best exploded onto the scene a couple of years ago with their spectacular mix of African pop and day-glo European electronica; an excellent crossover group if there ever was one.

Vocalist Esau Mwamwaya’s soaring voice takes front-and-center and would be a welcome addition to any genre, yet it’s ex-Radio Clit frontman Johan Hugo’s happy-go-lucky production that makes Esau sound like he’d be right at home filling stadiums fronting for U2, let alone The Very Best.

Their new album “MTMTMK” comes out on July 17th – just in time for summer house parties, BBQ’s, block parties… the kind of happy environment that The Very Best thrive in. Their collaboration with Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig – 2010’s “Warm Heart Of Africa” – was by far one of the most infectious melodies of the year.

Check out the Lil Wayne homage of a video for “Yoshua Alikuti,” shot in Esau’s hometown in Nairobi.
