Nas makes being a father sound bad-ass on ‘Letterman’

The last time ’90s hip-hop veteran Nas came to “The Late Show,” he was rapping alongside Damian Marley doing “Count Your Blessings” from the shall we say lackluster collaborative album “Distant Relatives.” On last night’s “Letterman,” he sounded stronger and more confident than he has in years. “Daughters” is one of the few tracks he’s spilled so far from “Life is Good” and despite it going down a path that’s often bait for a Cheese-ball tribute, Nas manages to make it sound totally bad-ass.

“Life is Good” will be out July 17 on Def Jam. Check out “Daughters” below.
