James Bond turns 50

James Bond turns 50 today, putting him into candidacy for early retirement.

The first official James Bond movie, the Sean Connery starring “Dr No”, came out 50 years ago on October 5th, 1962. That is, as the kids say, old. Connery himself is 82 years old. That’s sherioushly makesh him a shenior cshitizen.

When “Skyfall” debuts late next month it will be the 23rd movie in the James Bond canon, not including the early Peter Sellers comedy “Casino Royale” and the “Thunderball” remake “Never Say Never Again.”
