Local Natives stream new single, ‘Breakers’

Silverlake natives Local Natives were perhaps the freshest and best-loved addition to the LA indie rock landscape in 2010 when they released their excellent debut “Gorilla Manor.” We haven’t much from them since, but they popped up in New York this week to unveil a few new tracks from their upcoming record “Hummingbird,” and late yesterday streamed the album’s first sing, “Breakers.” It’s a familiar sound—bright, jangly guitars awash in reverb and sugar-sweet vocal melodies.
