Sigur Ros debuts a new song live at Iceland Airwaves

Sigur Ros returned to Iceland’s famed music festival Iceland Airwaves this weekend for the first time in a few years. They played a new track called “Brennisteinn,” which sounds more German than Icelandic and which is appropriate because the new track is a jaunt into industrial electronic territory. It’s not exactly your typical Sigur Ros, but it’s a nice contrast to some of their new material on “Valtari” which at times is so slight and whispery as to just barely emerge from non-existence.
