Charli XCX parties with guns in new video for ‘You (Ha Ha Ha)’

Charli XCX unleashed a delightful new single yesterday called “You (Ha Ha Ha)” and an accompanying video where a bunch of girls partying with guns end up trading bullets for lipstick.

“We’d been watching a lot of grindhouse movies, mostly with strong female leads like ‘The Pom Pom Girls’ and ‘Coffy,’ and there seemed to be a bizarre cross over from that genre of cinema and today’s world of pop,” Charli tells Pitchfork of the video.

The tune itself, which samples Gold Panda, is equal parts Grimes and Lily Allen, which makes it both super catchy and sonically interesting. Watch the video below—official release is February 10.
