Lil Wayne reveals he has epilepsy

Rapper and consumate sizzurp enthusiast Lil Wayne has revealed that he has epilepsy – which was the cause of his recent seizures that put him in the hospital.

The news does not come as a surprise to those closest to him, apparently. Speaking to DJ Felli Fell on Los Angeles radio station Power 106, he said:

“Like, this isn’t my first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh seizure. I’ve had a bunch of seizures, y’all just never hear about them. But this time it got real bad ’cause I had three of them in a row and on the third one, my heart rate went down to like 30 per cent. Basically, I could’ve died, so that is why it was so serious. But the reason being for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest, overworking myself.”

Lil Wayne had overcome an addiction to sizzurp, aka purple drank, aka highly potent medical-grade cough syrup. This was well documented in a 2009 documentary “The Carter”. Strangely enough, his epileptic fits (and subsequent hospital trip) took place just days before the release of his album “I Am Not A Human Being Part II” on March 25th.
