Two body builders argue on the internet about how many days are in the week
Members of the forum on BodyBuilding.com attempted to tackle one of the most confounding problems of our age: How many days are in a week?
Much like Bertrand Russell’s quest to cast aside axiomatic approximations and rebuild the foundations of mathematics using air-tight, sound logic, the thread begins with a user appropriately named m1ndless asking a simple enough question: Is it safe to do a full body workout every other day?
But, just as Russell discovered, this seemingly simple question ultimately unfolds into a maddening tunnel of infinite paradoxes, only creating further questions like “What are numbers?” and “How is math?”
First, a helpful user named “all pro” recommends the standard three workouts per week. At a rate of every other day, this would be “safe.” They talk a bit about how long the workouts should be before user steviekm3 chimes in and blows everyone’s fucking minds.
Wait, hold on, says user TheJosh:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday. That is 4 days.
How do you go 3.5 times? Do a half workout or something? lol
Justin-27 enters with some hard math.
Salvo fired. TheJosh responds:
I never said anything about going exactly 7 times, like I said, if I go every other day, that is 4 DAYS A WEEK. How hard is that to comprehend?
Week 1 – Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday
Week 2 – Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday.
8 DAYS IN 2 WEEKS
In your terms,
8x in 2 weeks = 4 times a week, genius.
All Muscle and No Brains? lol
But TheJosh’s initial assumptions were flawed, as steviekm3 points out.
You double counted Sunday – that is 2 weeks plus 1 day.
Did you fail grade 2 math ?
PLUS your old post said 4 or 5 times a week. Now you just neglect to mention the 5.
Grow up and admit when you are wrong. Believe me you will get a a lot further in life this way.
And yet, TheJosh will not be deterred.
Are you retarded?
Maybe you should look at a calander, I didn’t double count sunday, my two weeks started and ended on sunday, exactly 14 days.
What don’t you understand?
EDIT – Here is a Calender, I made little dots for each day so you could comprehend.
Justin-27 fires back. “You, my bright friend, are el wrongo.”
Dude THAT IS 15 DAYS!!!!!! Are you that effing mental? You can’t have a week go Sun-Sat, then Sun-Sun. Look at the damn pic you posted, count the days what do they equal?!?!?! FIFTEEN!
Kids these days.
I was right, 3.5 x a week, and so was the first guy to post it, and you my bright friend are el wrongo.
This still isn’t enough for TheJosh.
It’s 14 days, try again.
Maybe you should try counting on your fingers?
If you workout on the 8th, you wouldnt start counting the days til the 9th, because that is one day, then the 10th would be two days, and so on until you get to the 22nd, which is 14 days.
At which point Justin-27 starts counting for him.
COUNT THE FUKING DAYS! How many days are in 2 weeks moron? 14
I am saying you train 7x in 2 weeks, which in other terms is 3.5x a week. I cannot believe I have to type THREE replies for you to get this.
Here fuktard read this:
^You tell me how that works out? I see 3x one week, then 4x the next, which???? EQUALS SEVEN IN 2 WEEKS!
In case you forgot, ONE WEEK is Sunday-Sat, NOT Sun-sun, that’s 8 days moron.
As you can imagine, this does not satisfy TheJosh. Into the rabbit hole we go.
For me to get this? You are the one who is not getting it, it’s simple, just look at the calender and COUNT THE DAYS.
There is 7 days in a week, if you workout every other day, you work out 4 days a week, how hard is that to ****ing comprehend?!
Ill do it out in 4 weeks for you, maybe it will make more sense?
Week 1 – Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday
Week 2 – Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday
Week 3 – Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Monday
Week 4 – Wednesday, Friday, Sunday, Tuesday
Week 5 – Thursday, Saturday, Monday, Wednesday
Week 6 – Friday, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday
No matter how you look at it, if you workout every other day, you work out 4 times a week.
A week is sunday-sunday.
I think you just don’t know how to count, it’s alright, I won’t tell anyone. lol
Sunday-Saturday is only 6 days, do you have 6 days weeks where you live?
Yes, you workout 4x the first week, then 3 the next.
I’m right, you’re a effing moron.
A WEEK IS NOOOOTTTTT SUN-SUN!!!! IT’S SUN-SAT, S-E-V-E-N- DAYS!!!!
Sun-Sat is only 6 days?!
Arizona public schools=FAIL
You don’t start counting on sunday, it hasn’t been a day yet, you don’t start counting til monday. You can’t count the day that it is, did you never take basic elementrary math?
MONDAY is 1 DAY
TUESDAY is 2 DAYS
WEDNESDAY is 3 DAYS
THURSDAY is 4 DAYS
FRIDAY is 5 DAYS
SATURDAY is 6 DAYS
SUNDAY is 7 DAYS
Today is SATURDAY, so how many days til SUNDAY? 2 days? NO! It’s only 1 day.
How many days til MONDAY? 2 days, NOT 3 DAYS BY YOUR COUNT!
God Damn You’re Retarded.
Ok I counted it on my fingers.
Tell me that does not equal 15 and I will give you my 350Z
What do you mean you don’t start counting on Sunday? IT’s a fuking DAY!
How can you deny the 4 weeks I posted? Tell me this smartguy, how many times would you train in 4 weeks? ****, look at your cute calendar and tell me it’s not 14 in one month.
You don’t count what day it is when counting days, I just explained that. If today is SATUDAY, it’s not 2 days until SUNDAY now is it?
If you get paid every other friday, you get paid every 2 weeks, correct? That’s 14 days, so how is sunday-sunday not 1 week?
Last Satuday was 7 DAYS AGO!
No you didn’t.
You explained that you didnt *feel* like it should be counted as a day, which is not a reason.
Answer my question.
Go up to that calendar and start the workouts on the first, mark x’s on every other day until the end of the month.
Report back your findings genius.
I never said “feel”?
Like I said just in a PM..
It’s like math, if you have 4, and you add 3, that gives you 7, not 6. If you start counting at 4, and add 3, you start counting at 5, so it would be 5,6,7, NOTTTTTT 4,5,6 by your count.
I have a feeling you are so mentally retarded that we need to take the “week” lingo out of this and go to numbers.
Do what I said above, tell me how many times you train in 4 SEVEN day weeks, aka one month.
Use the calendar for your retarded eyes to see the truth.
I took the week out to make it more simple for you since you are having such a hard time comprehending simple counting! Is it that hard to admit you’re wrong?
If you work out every other day for 31 days, that is 16 days a month, 4 days a week!
Amazingly, this is only page one of five. The argument continues for five more pages, though by page two TheJosh largely disappears—perhaps he is superhuman, and has evolved to transcend time as we understand it, and is now lost somewhere in the incomprehensible void of his extraneous day? We may never know.
