Revenge pornographer Hunter Moore is going to prison

This is not a great time to be a guy who profits off of the sexual humiliation of women.

First, Kevin Bollaert, the proprietor of the revenge porn site UGotPosted, is facing 20 years in prison for charges of extortion and identity theft. Now, Hunter Moore, arguably the most notorious revenge pornographer in the entire human compost pile, who once reveled in his nickname “The Most Hated Man on the Internet,” pled guilty to charges of hacking and identity theft in relation to his revenge porn site Is Anyone Up?

According to court documents obtained by Ars Technica, the 28-year-old was arrested by the FBI for hacking in January, 2014.

As if it wasn’t bad enough that Moore was profiting off of posting explicit pictures of women without their permission, often provided by angry exes, Moore took his garbage operation one depraved step further by paying his cohort Charles “Gary” Evens to steal nude photographs from women — often via gaining access to their email accounts by impersonating their friends. Moore also posted identifying information, employment details and social media accounts along with the naked pictures, so that the offending photos were easily accessible through a simple Google search.

Gawker reported that Moore “faces a minimum of two years and a maximum of seven years in prison, plus fines of up to $500,000 and probation for up to 3 years once he gets out.” Besides prison sentencing and fines, the terms of his probation dictate that Moore will also have to register any new social media, internet accounts or hardware with a probation officer. Plus, authorities have carte blanche to access and copy his files at any given time.

Honestly, the potential sentence seems a little light for a guy who once said that he wouldn’t care if “somebody killed themselves” over essentially having their life ruined by Moore posting their personal information alongside potentially stolen nude pictures.

Evens will go to trial next month for hacking into email accounts and stealing the explicit pictures, unless he happens to cut a plea deal before then. As for Moore, he’s due back in court on February 25.
