Jamie Foxx confirms Scorsese to direct Mike Tyson biopic

During an interview this morning with Power 105’s “The Breakfast Club,” Jamie Foxx confirmed that he would take on the role of Mike Tyson in an upcoming biopic. Adding more heat to that billing is news that Martin Scorsese will be directing what seems destined for blockbuster status.

Listen, to be in the same room pitching Mike Tyson to Paramount, Mike Tyson is on one side, I’m on the other side and doing Mike Tyson at the same time. And Martin Scorsese at the helm. This will be the first boxing movie that Martin Scorsese has done since “Raging Bull”.

Foxx was on the show promoting his new single, “You Changed Me” featuring Chris Brown, and talking about how music was what he originally intended to focus on. Foxx also discussed all the “old man” biopic roles he’s been having thrown in his direction, and his first encounter with Tyson during his early stand-up days.

Iron Mike has been experiencing a career revolution as of late. While his cameo in “The Hangover” may have been the jump-off to his recent collection of IMDB listings, Kid Dynamite has made some serious waves with his one-man show “The Undisputed Truth” (directed by Spike Lee), a docu-series about his love of pigeon racing, and most recently his animated adventures (including an avian sidekick)  “Mike Tyson Mysteries”.

Now, can we get a new Tyson video game, or nah?
