Robert Durst arrested in New Orleans
Robert Durst, 71, was arrested in New Orleans on Saturday on a warrant that was issued in LA concerning an ongoing homicide investigation.
Durst has long been suspected to have been responsible for the disappearance of his wife in 1982 and the death of his friend Susan Berman in 2000, and a source informed the LA Times that this warrant specifically has to do with the Berman case.
Durst is currently the subject of an HBO documentary series “The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst.” It is believed that evidence shown for the first time in the finale, which airs tonight, is what led to the warrant being issued.
Susan Berman’s stepson, Sareb Kaufman, uncovered a letter Durst had sent to his late stepmother a year before she was killed. The letter very closely resembles a letter that was sent to the Beverly Hills police the day Berman was killed, informing them of the presence of a “cadaver” at her address. Both letters seem to have very similar handwriting, and both misspell the word “Beverley.”
Of course, this could all just be part of the greatest viral marketing stunt of all time.
