Nevada lawmaker proposes medical weed for pets

A Nevada lawmaker has proposed that animals be allowed to toke up.

The bill, which was proposed in the Nevada state senate by the appropriately-named Tick Segerblom, would require that pets obtain a doctor’s – or in this case veterinarian’s – note to get access to that kind doggy bud if their vet deemed it “may mitigate the symptoms or effects” of a chronic condition.

As absurd as it may sound, there are some obvious upsides to this. ¬†Firstly, animal edibles sounds like an enormous untapped market. (“Bongin’ Strips” anyone??) Secondly¬†I’m pretty sure turtles are stoned all the time anyway. The main issue is whether there’s consent from the pets. Beyond that is this even controversial? From gambling to prostitution Nevada is the state where anything goes. Besides technically pets already “have access to medical marijuana” if their owners do.

It’s called eating whatever’s on the table the second you leave the room.
