Fox News remixes MOAB footage into bomb porn

The Pentagon released video of the largest non-nuclear weapon ever used in combat being detonated on an ISIS tunnel complex in the Afghanistan province of Nangarhar province. AP reported early Friday morning 36 ISIS fighters were killed in the bombing, according to Afghani officials, and no civilian casualties were reported.

“The Today Show” broadcast the footage on its show Friday, which we’ve embedded below for Brian Williams and anyone else who might need to crank one out during their mid-morning coffee break.

Big bomb go boom.

Footage that had circulated on Twitter Thursday that appeared to be taken by an American soldier and was tagged #MOAB was not actually of the strike on Afghanistan, but of an earlier bombing that uploaded to YouTube in November of 2014. Here it is anyway, because the only reason you clicked on this post to see this sort of shit, right?

And here’s the actual blast again, remixed by “Fox and Friends” to Toby Keith’s bloodthirsty war anthem “Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue (The Angry American).”

“That is what freedom looks like,” says host Ainsley Earhardt. “That’s the red, white, and blue.”

“One of my favorite things in the 16 years I’ve been here at Fox News,” Geraldo Rivera adds, “is watching bombs drop on bad guys.”

It’s nice for them to finally have something to be happy about again. God knows there’s been a real dearth of bomb porn on the morning news over the last eight years. Hey, is anyone else getting flashbacks to Iraq? Or are our memories that bad?
