Aaron Hernandez reportedly left a handwritten note to his prison lover
In the wake of former NFL star Aaron Hernandez’s jailhouse suicide, Daily Mail reported that three handwritten notes were left in his cell by a Bible open to John 3:16. A previous reported stated that Hernandez wrote the verse on his forehead in red marker before hanging himself.
According to unnamed sources, one note was addressed to Hernandez’s fiancee Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez, the second was addressed to the couple’s 4-year-old daughter Avielle, and the third was written to Hernandez’s prison lover. The unidentified inmate is believed to be the last person Hernandez spoke to before hanging himself in his cell and is reportedly under “eyeball to eyeball” suicide watch.
In addition to the notes, Daily Mail is claiming that the 27-year-old former Patriot’s suicide was in the works for weeks:
The former football star even gave away most of his personal belongings to fellow inmates and covered the floor of his cell in soap, according to a well-paced source. If he lost his nerve he wouldn’t be able to save himself as he would slip around and not be able to land firmly on his feet.
Massachusetts chief medical examiner Dr. Henry N. Nields completed the autopsy and officially deemed Hernandez’s death a suicide on Thursday despite his lawyer Jose Baez voicing suspicion that his client was actually murdered.
Hernandez was serving a life sentence for the murder of Odin Lloyd when he took his own life just days after getting acquitted for a separate double murder.
