Trump: We are ‘locked and loaded’

Just 200 days into his presidency, Donald Trump has gone from international laughingstock to potential nuclear war personified. Early Friday morning, presumably just before hitting the green, he tweeted out an update on the state of our military plan — and yes, it read like something straight out of a bad ’90s action flick:

At just about the same time, North Korea issued its own statement:

Trump’s promise of “fire and fury” has done more than just cause millions of people to shit their pants in worry that World War III is quickly approaching. It has also caused a shakeup in the global markets, with the CBOE Volatility Index at its highest ever level since Trump was named president.

But even more disquieting is that #45 — a draft dodger — has seemingly no understanding of how the military operates. That’s obvious to anyone who has ever heard him attempt to articulate strategy, and even more apparent to someone like Malcolm Nance, a career counterterrorism and intelligence officer for the U.S. government’s Special Operations, Homeland Security, and Intelligence agencies:

So, who are you going to believe? An intelligence expert with four decades of experience, or the guy who swears his wife doesn’t poop and lied about a phone call from the Boy Scouts?
