Top Arizona Republicans skip Trump rally in Phoenix

At least four top Arizona Republicans will not attend President Trump’s Nazi rally in Phoenix Tuesday night. Governor Doug Ducey, Senator John McCain, Senator Jeff Flake, and state Republican party chair Jonathan Lines are all skipping the event.

Flake has been one of the party’s most vocal Trump critics since he refused to endorse Mr. Potato during the campaign. This month he published a book that declares Trumpism an assault on conservative values. POTUS has talked shit about the senator on Twitter and is working with the billionaire Mercer family to unseat him in 2018, despite Senate Republican leadership’s support for Flake. McCain drew Trump’s ire for cucking the Senate’s Obamacare repeal bill.

Ducey greeted POTUS when he landed in Arizona on Tuesday, but noticeably referred to veep Mike Pence as a “good friend” while sparing none of that camaraderie for Trump. Lines, who is from Yuma, didn’t meet with Trump when the president visited a border facility in the city before the rally.

Can’t wait for Donald to get a standing ovation for calling them all “irrelevant” or “babies” or something during the rally.
