Here’s the line in Trump’s UN speech that caused John Kelly to facepalm
Donald Trump’s presidency has been one long facepalm for America, especially every time he opens his mouth and can’t seem to form full sentences or prove that he’s read more than the back cover of a book called “How to Be President.” His chief of staff John Kelly seems to share at least some of those feelings, as the nation’s lead babysitter was spotted Tuesday giving a facepalm to the president’s speech in front of the United Nations General Assembly.
So, what exactly was the line that caused Kelly to react like the kid he’s babysitting keeps trying to bring an iPad into the shower? The Toronto Star matched the timestamp on the photo to the time of the speech:
That line — “no nation on earth has an interest in seeing this band of criminals arm itself with nuclear weapons and missiles” — came right before Trump threatened to attack an entire country, saying “we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea.”
This is not the first time Kelly has been caught looking embarrassed at the remarks of the president he was hired to keep in line. FWIW, Redditors looked at the time on Kelly’s watch and thought that it matched up with the line where Trump called North Korean leader Kim Jong-un “rocket man,” but Redditors don’t exactly have a sterling record in the realm of being freelance investigators.
