Video of Jason Mamoa making a horrific rape joke is making the rounds
In the tradition of unflattering clips of male actors saying or doing sketchy things getting resurrected, this footage from the 2011 “Game of Thrones” Comic-Con panel is making the rounds because of the ill-advised joke Jason “Aquaman” Mamoa makes.
“But, as far as sci-fi and fantasy, I love that there’s so many things you can do, like rip someone’s tongue out of their throat and get away with it,” Mamoa said, “and rape beautiful women.”
Although several cast members covered their faces in embarrassment, that “rape beautiful women” comment was greeted by a huge laugh break from the audience.

In an interview from the site Monsters and Critics, Mamoa clarified the Comic-Con comment and his view of having to act out sexual violence at his job.
“It was very hard because I have never done that to anyone before,” the 32-year-old said. “But the good news was I’m not a rapist. It really did not feel good. There was not enjoyment. I don’t like women crying when I’m making love to them.”
