Rip Torn Dodges Jail For Drunken Bank Break-In
Last January, the actor was found lurching on the floor of the Litchfield Bancorp building in his hometown of Salisbury, Connecticut, clutching a revolver. The police reported Torn was visibly intoxicated and thought the bank was his home.
Torn pleaded guilty Tuesday to reckless endangerment, criminal trespass, criminal mischief and illegally carrying of a firearm and received a two-and-a-half-year suspended sentence and three years’ probation; he will have to submit to random drug and alcohol tests as part of the probation. Damn, Torn has to be loving Connecticut.
Torn has a history of alcohol-related arrests. Just last year, Torn was arrested for his third DUI while driving his Subaru with Christmas tree on top while in the breakdown lane.
Stay in Connecticut, Torn! His mug shot has nothing on Nick Nolte.
