Time-Traveling Beastie Boys Annoy Themselves in Short Film
You gotta fight for your right to challenge your past self to a dance-off and throw beer at Will Arnett.
You can never have too many super fresh old school throw-down dance contests from the future, which is why the world really needed “Fight For Your Right Revisited.” The star-studded Sundance short film from the Beastie Boys also serves as a music video for “Hot Sauce Committee Part Two.”
Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly and Jack Black star as an older set of Beasties to their younger counterparts, played by Elijah Wood, Danny McBride and Seth Rogen. It looks like the older ones travel back through time and challenge their past selves to a dance contest. There’s window smashing, beer throwing and plenty of shenanigans that look like they’re straight from the original “Fight For Your Right (To Party)” video. Will Arnett, Orlando Bloom, Kirsten Dunst, David Cross, Amy Poehler, Jason Schwartzman, Adam Scott, Rainn Wilson, Steve Buscemi, Chloë Sevigny, Alicia Silverstone, Martin Starr, Rashida Jones, and R.E.M.’s Mike Mills also show up in the half-hour film.
