After a stellar collaboration with Burial and Thom Yorke, Four Tet comes through with another solid electronic tune.
Four Tet, the one-man genre-bending machine also known as Kieran Hebden, has dropped “Locked,” a brand new jam off his upcoming “Fabriclive 59″ mix.
If you’ve been feeling his late, astonishing collaboration with Thom Yorke and Burial or his Radiohead remix, “Locked” wont disappoint. The track begins with a current London-style postdub beat which is morphed into a sparse progression by the 2-minute mark with the addition of a loose keyboard melody and bassline. It’ll have your ears hypnotically drifting somewhere in the imaginative plane between a thumping rhythm and an ambient melody.
Four Tet’s “Fabriclive 59″ mix, due out September 19, will include two more original pieces as well as remixes of Caribou, Burial and many others. “Locked” will also be released as a 12″ on Four Tet’s own TEXT Records.
