Hugo Chavez Needs a Virtual Army to Run Twitter Account

hugo-chavezHugo Chavez has run into a political minefield, and now needs a staff of 200 people to run his Twitter account, according to The Huffington Post. The main reason for joining Twitter, according to Chavez, is to confront the Tweets of criticism and ridicule from his opponents. In his words, “I’m creating a team due to the avalanche of requests, and some grievances.”
The account, which goes by the handle “chavezcandanga” is racking up 20,000 followers a day, and is currently at almost 270,000. Unfortunately, you’ll need to learn Spanish in order to know exactly what he’s posting about. He’s pretty late to the Twitter game, and he hasn’t bested the Dalai Lama yet, who currently has almost 315,000 followers. Both men put my Twitter list to shame, with only 12 followers at @starvingartNYC.
