Granted, most book stores can’t afford big commercial campaigns, but if they could, we imagine they might be something like this one from charitable New Zealand-based bookseller Good Books. The 2-minute clip is one part commercial, one part furious animated impression of Franz Kafka’s “The Metamorphosis” filtered through a distinctly Hunter S. Thompson-style voice.
It’s weird, but in a good way. Huffington Post says it was created by the animation studio Buck, who insists that “what you will see is an entirely fictional and completely unendorsed representation. [Though we humbly suggest Hunter S Thompson might have liked it.] We are devoted fans paying homage. No disrespect is intended.”
