‘The Daily Show’ uncovers massive corporate corruption in Idaho

Last night on The Daily Show reporter Aasif Mandvi had a segment in which he blows the lid off of a statewide conspiracy involving Simplot, one of the state’s biggest companies that has been polluting all over Idaho. The story begins with a two-headed trout (pictured above) found in a stream in Idaho and works its way up to a corruption of not just Simplot but also the EPA.

It’s well worth a watch; Aasif doubles down on the laughter to make the seriousness of the case go down easier.

And once again, The Daily Show is the only mainstream "news" outlet doing any actual reporting.

Welcome to the 21st century, where we go to Fox news for our fiction, and Comedy Central for our facts.

Seriously. I don't know about everyone else, but the Daily Show and the Colbert Report are the only news shows I watch. In my experience, they're the only news programs that aren't overtly biased in either direction. I respect the fact that they call everyone on their bullshit.

If you search this story, Simplot does exist and the entire story about the release of Selenium has been removed from the web site. The tag is still there, but the detail story has been removed. Interesting , don;t you think? And this company produces food stuffs. yikes!
