As events in Syria inch ever closer to a critical mass, Anonymous has hit the pro-Syrian hackers, the Syrian Electronic Army. Anonymous just announced that they have taken down the SEA’s website with a DDoS attack.
The DDoS attack come 22 hours after SEA taunted Anonymous with a video that starts “In our country we have a saying ‘follow the liar to the end of the door’ and we have been waiting for months for you to implement your various threats.”
Well, it seems that Anonymous finally followed up on its threats to SEA because the pro-Syrian hacker website is not loading as of the writing of this article.
The cyberwar seems to have started when Anonymous hacked the Syrian Ministry of Defense last year. More recently, SEA hacked Al Jazeera’s Twitter account, which might have been one of many factors in Anonymous’ DDoS attack.
