Sunken Foal releases mesmerizing ‘Cool Arms of Love’ single

Sunken Foal, real name Dunk Murphy, a Dubliner with a serious glitchy and sublime psychedelic style, has released a single called “Cool Arms of Love.” It was recommended to us by Solar Bears, themselves no strangers to wondrous experimental sounds. It sounds rather like Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada and French Touch tropes swirling in a hallucinatory primordial pool.

The single appears on Murphy’s LP “Friday Synchrome Vol. 1,” an 18-track, 45-minute follow-up to “Fallen Arches.” The tracks were recorded over the course of a year during 2010 and 2011 in which Dunk took four hours every Friday to write a track from scratch and send it to a bunch of friends.
