Menomena return with a new record, “Moms,” in September. Their first record without multi-instrumentalist Brent Knopf, fans have been nervously awaiting the first sneak peeks at the album to see if it’ll hold up. We first heard “Heavy Is as Heavy Does,” and today we get “Capsule,” a track that starts out with pure noise and unfolds into a slight if pleasant enough tune.

The band may be down some piano arpeggios and bells and whistles, but they still sound like Menomena. “Moms” is out September 18 on Barsuk.
