You saw Mitt Romney explain how he fought to hire women for government positions in Massachusetts, then mention that his staff brought him “binders full of women,” meaning qualified women candidates. Then, if you were following the debate on Twitter as well as TV, you saw #bindersfullofwomen go viral.
Watching a meme explode is amazing—the instant hashtag and Twitter feeds, the photoshopped pics with cross-memes and witty wordplay, the poignant photoshopped commentary, the cynical self-aware Tweets, the Ryan Gosling references. Watching a meme explode from inception is like, ermahgerd crerzy.
