For years I’ve been wondering if hip-hop would ever dip into the beautiful melodic oceans of shoegaze or IDM stalwarts Boards of Canada and Aphex Twin. Well, it looks like Big Boi burst through that barrier with full force on the incredible new track “She Hates Me,” set to appear on new LP “Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors.” Big Boi’s verse unfolds in wondrous fashion atop the wall of electronic sound, while Kid Cudi’s chorus lends the song some vocal elegance. Easily one of the best tracks of 2012.
