The 69 year old art-crooner Scott Walker has been surprisingly active in the last couple of years. Considering his almost near-recluse status for the majority of the 70s, 80s, and 90s, he has recently emerged as more visceral answer to the question of “what would Tom Waits sound like if I took all this acid?”

Bish Bosch – Walker’s 14th studio album and his first in six years – was released yesterday by reknowned indie label 4AD. As you can hear (and see) from the album preview above, it features samples of swords clashing, theremins orgasming like a nest full of bees, and screaming. Which is great if you like that sort of thing. Totally the kind of album you’d put on to romance a lady, amirite? Iamrite. It features such lyrics as, and I quote: “”I’ve severed my reeking gonads/ Fed them to your shrunken face.” Delightful!
