Vampire Weekend is gearing up to release a new record in May and so far they’ve been Timberlake-style cryptic about the details, releasing a website with only the mysterious letters “MVOTO” providing any clue about the album.
They did play a new track “Unbelievers” on “Kimmel,” however, and now we get a live recording of a new one called “Arms” from a recent show in Sydney, Australia. Like “Unbelievers,” “Arms” finds Vampire Weekend exploring a harmony-rich Americana sound. It also has some fun oddball instrumentation in the bridge that makes it sound a little like Mark Mothersbaugh music from a Wes Anderson movie. Listen below.
