Feral pig drinks 18 beers, gets in fight with cow
The DeGrey River rest area had a special visitor this weekend, a wild boar (not pictured above, unfortunately) that ransacked a campsite’s trash bags and beer stash. One eyewitness reported that the hog chugged an approximated 18 beers. Then, the animal engaged in fisticuffs with a moo-cow. True story.
The Guardian has the full report:
The animal was seen stealing three six-packs of beer from campers before ransacking rubbish bags for food.
One camper reported seeing the pig guzzling the beer before getting involved in an altercation with a cow.
“In the middle of the night these people camping opposite us heard a noise, so they got their torch out and shone it on the pig and there he was, scrunching away at their cans,” said the visitor, who estimated that the pig had consumed 18 beers.
But that’s not all. The eyewitness went on to say that the wild, drunken animal, whose name was not disclosed in the report, “went and raided all the rubbish bags. There were some other people camped right on the river and they saw him being chased around their vehicle by a cow.” The pig is not facing any repercussions from the series of events. He was last seen resting under a tree, sleeping it off presumably.
The authorities responsible for the parks and recreation in Port Hedland, Australia, are now iterating to its visitors to properly secure trash, food and alcohol during overnight stays. Also, don’t feed the animals.
