6-year-old yokel on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ wants to ‘kill everyone in China,’ network apologizes
Earlier this month, late night talk show “Jimmy Kimmel Live” ran a segment to lampoon the childish behavior of Congress during the government shutdown. The segment, titled “Kids Table,” pitted four grade-school wisenheimers against one another with Jimmy Kimmel as their moderator.
Lots of stirring debate ensued, as you will see in the embedded video below, but the burning question that got kids jumping out of their chairs and, in turn, network execs at ABC, was a matter of fiscal responsibility among world superpowers.
Kimmel asked his panel their thoughts on the U.S.’s incredible debt to China. With a lethal western twang, six-year-old Braxton submitted an innovative, arguably right-wing radical response.
Kimmel: “Next question: America owes China a lot of money, 1.3 trillion dollars. How should we pay them back?”
Braxton: “Shoot cannons all the way over and kill everyone in China.”
Another kid had some crazy idea to build a giant wall over there, which makes even less sense according to Kimmel. ABC issued an apology for the segment in response to a letter they received on October 25 from a pan-Asian-American political organization. They have also removed the segment from any future airings and scrubbed from their YouTube channel.
