The New York Times is reporting that last night, roughly six months after the earthquake at Port-Au-Prince, Arcade Fire played a special show where they offered up their own cash to help Haiti rebuild. At the show in Quebec, Régine Chassagne, wife of frontman Win Butler and fellow founder, told the crowd about an organization called Kanpe, a non-profit which brings aid from Canada to Haiti. Win Butler announced that people can donate $5 by texting 30333, and that the band will match every public donation made up to $1 Million Canadian. (that’s like $75 US right? Kidding, kidding…) Get on it!
