SNL Dismisses Jenny Slate

According to unnamed sources reporting to the “NY Times,” SNL will be letting go of Jenny Slate to make room for the show’s new entrants.

Why SNL, why?!

Sounds like SNL has been making some good decisions lately: Amy Poehler is back to host the season premiere on Sept 26, they’ve got Jane Lynch lined up for Oct 2. But today they announced a serious mistake.

In the wake of Will Forte‘s announcement that he’s leaving the show, the show hired a few new members, and today “NY Times” reports they’re letting Jenny Slate go in order to make room for the newbies.

Abby Elliot, however, who is way less funny and also dating Fred Armisen, is staying. Hmm… is that nepotism we smell?

Jenny Slate, a rising star at SNL since she first made waves dropping the F-bomb on live TV during her debut, will co-star in HBO’s “Bored To Death” this fall. She also recently made “Marcel The Shell With Shoes On,” one of the funniest things to happen in 2010, and probably a good deal funnier than any of the SNL skits we’ll see this season.

Not only is Abby dating Fred, her father is also a former cast member of SNL and her uncle is a producer for SNL. Nepotism cubed.

Oh man, nepotism cubed! Thanks for the insight. Now we'll have 3 times the shit to complain about all season!
